There is indeed an increase of cases of abortion and abuse of morning after pills.Speaking from the platform of knowledge i want to register my views. There was a lot of hullabaloo some tyms back about whether to legalise abortion or not. i say that abortion is neither a solution nor even a stop gap measure. The steps that lead to abortion are well known, the action(sex) is usually by mutual consent. A pregnancy always indicates an unprotected sexual intercourse(heterosexual).Kenyans have a tendency of using condoms,they know how to put them on,and use them for a while. We lack consistency and after a few encounters we eat the sweet without the wrapper.
Abortion takes many forms, which i will discuss in another one, but the objective is one: to end/terminate or get rid of a pregnancy. Basic wisdom says that prevention is better than cure. It would logically follow that we should just prevent pregnancy from happening instead of trying to remove it. Family planning is a solution to the moral,legal and ethical question of abortion. this is true barring other factors like pregnancy following rape or when the mothers life is in danger.
family planning is cheap,convenient and available for use by all who are of reproductive age.Kenyan health system is a bit friendly even to mature minors and will provide the service.
About the morning after pills,...their increased use arose following adverts in the media.This was commendable. the adverts though, failed to add that the pills are only used for emergency contraception and not as a method of family planning. Chemists record very high sales of the pills on monday mornings....the trend shows that it is being used as a family planning method following a weekend of lovemaking/babymaking. There is contorversy as to how many times it should be used in a month ,but even the most liberal of gynaecologists say not more than four times.
In short ,i am adressing myself to men and women ,ngals and mboys ....If you must have sex,unsafely,dont want a baby,hoping u dont catch HIV or you are married,and you have sex regularly then you should take a long term method of family planning that is cheap and affordable..they are many.....
Abortion is not only illegal,it is a sin and cannot be explained any other way.The fetuses in black,green and other colours paper bags really spoil the enviroment and transform our country into a man eat woman,woman eat man and baby society.
Family planning works,so give it a shot.
Preach on bro, that is so true! People want to have their cake and eat it as well, it doesn't work that way. Morning after pills are not good for your health as doctors say, tena to do it every weekend? That would make one sick as a dog!

As for abortion, that is never an answer.
